Currently we are engaged in designing new concept
of technological equipment for circular settling basins. Patent
application will be submitted prior to its first implementation
followed by making public its design as well. The merits of
such design will be as follows:
- It fits basin size ranging from 7 m to round 50 m.
- Very low material consumption about 3 times lower compared
to classic structures complete with traversing bridge. This
enables to accomplish lower production costs by at least
50%.
- High efficiency SM (solid material - insolubles) content
up to 10 mg/l.
- Skimming the surface & bottom as well.
- This design in linkage with AX axial flow pump manufactured
by us makes it possible to increase sludge recirculation
at the existing settling basins concerning Municipal WWTPs
(Waste Water Treatment Plants), and hence raise sludge concentration
within activated sludge process (aeration) along with enhancing
treatment efficiecy substantially. Refer to the example
hereinafter.
- The entire equipment is feasible to be taken out from
a full basin under operation within 1-2 hours, and able
to be installed back into the basin fully filled with water
following any if its maintenance.
Example:
The existing Municipal WWTP: its average flowrate is Q24 -
5000 m3/day = 208 m3/hour. Circular secondary settling basin
is of 25 m diameter & 3,5 m water depth. Return sludge
recirculation is R * 60 % Q24 = 104 m3/hour. Return sludge
concentration equals to 8 kg/ m3. Sludge concentration within
aeration tank (activation) is 3 kg/ m3.
The settling basin revamp using ALVEST System will enable
sludge circulation to increase from current R = 60 % to R
= 150 %. When reaching return sludge concentration of 8 kg/
m9 the sludge concentration in aeration tank (activation)
will grow to 4,8 kg/ m3. In this way the amount of sludge
within aeration (activation) system will rise i.e. in secondary
settling basin by 60 % against its original state, and consequently
the biological efficiency of treating will increase significantly
as well.
